'faslane 365'

// home

‘faslane 365’ was a peaceful anti-nuclear civil rights project based outside the gates of the faslane baval base,
which is currently where britain is storing a fleet of trident nuclear weapons on the firth of clyde in scotland.
the protest ran continuously from the 1st october 2006 to the 30th september 2007 attracting a wide range of
national and international peace activists from various age groups and professions

i have chosen to focus on why the key religious groups chose to take a clear stand for peace and became
involved in this particular protest. i am personally intrigued to explore the role of religion in contemporary
society and hope to illustrate this through the participation of key religious groups in the trident debate.

this is a body of work that grew to become very personal, giving me the opportunity to question and explore
my own faith and political opinion on the renewal of trident. it also gave me the opportunity to meet and build
relationships with an inspirational circle of people brought together by a common goal to stand up for what
they believe in.
